TPS Information

TPS Extension for Ukrainian Refugees

  • TPS for Ukrainians has been extended through April 19, 2025
  • You need to REAPPLY to receive the extension
  • You are eligible if you arrived in the U.S. on or before August 16, 2023
  • Applications submitted since December have been accepted but many are still being processed

If your application is delayed: Contact your congressional representative’s office. Their caseworkers can help check your application status with USCIS.

Know Your Rights

If You Are Approached by Immigration Officials:

  1. You have the right to remain silent
  2. You have the right to speak to a lawyer
  3. You do NOT have to open your door unless agents have a valid search warrant signed by a judge
  4. You have the right to refuse to sign any documents before speaking with a lawyer

What to do:

  • Stay calm and do not run
  • Ask if you are free to leave
  • If not, say “I wish to remain silent and speak to a lawyer”
  • Do NOT provide information about your immigration status
  • Do NOT show any documents from your home country
  • Do NOT sign anything without speaking to a lawyer first

TPS Status Protection:

  • Keep copies of all your application receipts
  • If approached by officials, show only your TPS application receipt or approval notice 
  • If your application is pending when the current designation expires, you are still protected
